We have many engaging
themes in second grade! Some of these
include the study of our community, birds, Woodland Indians, fairytales, and pond life. In literacy, we’ll explore a
variety of authors and genres- we’ll read the chapter book series by Ruth
Stiles Gannett, Three Tales of My
Father’s Dragon and The Miraculous
Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. In math, children will be working on the
understanding of numbers, addition and subtraction, and exploring basic
principles of geometry and measurement. We end the year with a trip to Squam Lake Science Center!
